Gratz will be talking about how he writes and develops stories, his novels, and focus on the books Refugee and Ground Zero. His first novel, Samuari Shortstop, published in 2007, was an American Libraries Association (ALA) Top 10 Book for Young Adults. He attended the University of Tennessee where he specialized in Creative Writing and later earned his Masters in English Education. Gratz was born and raised in Knoxville, TN.
